Luck Duck Pond
Pond and Overlook Trail Renovation Project Springdale, Washington
Many generous parties donated towards the purchase of trees and plants for the pond and the park at Town Hall. A beautiful park bench was also donated. All but two trees have been planted, and as soon as it is assured they won't be damaged, they will be placed by the pond. The Park Committee would sincerely like to thank all of you. We are still working on a way to place all names of donors in both areas. There is still much landscaping to do and donors are always welcome. Anyone is interested in helping with the planting, preparation or joining the Park Committee may contact Marcel Wolff at 258.7276.
On the same note, the sidewalks should be completed by the end of July. If you have driven or walked by the Lucky Duck Pond in downtown Springdale, you have seen that the bridge going over the dam is complete. Steven Wolff, along with two part-time summer helpers, Ricco Laukea and Jesse Icard, and Mayor Pammler worked to make sure it would be complete for rodeo weekend. The process of refilling the pond could take place after the parade. Work on the walkways will begin next week. This project is being funded by a grant from IAC, which our Mayor and Town Council worked very hard obtaining. Although at times things seemed at a standstill; things are on IAC's schedule.
I will post new information and pictures as I get them, 3.16/2008
Added three new photos 7112008, There is still things to finish around the area, but you can walk down to the pond and walk on the bridge and see the fishes. |
